About your teacher
Two decades in the classroom taught me one thing above all: nobody learns the Quran the same way, so nobody should be taught it the same way.
I spent 22+ years teaching Quran at Alazhar School and Nur-ul-Islam Academy, both in South Florida. After moving to Maryland I kept teaching, one-on-one and online, for students across the country.
Lessons cover recitation and tajweed rules properly applied, memorization at a pace you can hold, and the meaning behind what you're reciting. We start wherever you are, even at the Arabic alphabet, and we build from there with patience and no judgement.

Understand the miracles behind the verses, including where they meet what science tells us. Translation and context, so the words mean something as you recite them.

What age group do you tutor?
Male students 9 to 17. Female students 8 and up, including adults.
What is your rate?
$25 per hour. 30 and 45 minute lessons are also available.
Can you teach me the Arabic alphabet so I can read?
Yes. We start with recognizing the letters with the vowels, then move through reading words and on to the verses of the Quran.
Do you teach tajweed rules?
Yes, and we make sure each rule is actually applied in your recitation, not just memorized.
How can I pay?
Venmo, Zelle, or Apple Pay.
How is the online teaching conducted?
Over Zoom. A video chat invitation is sent out for each class.
Are the classes in groups or one-on-one?
